This week we hear from our Being There team who support adults and their families with housing support:
All the families we support were recently invited to a special taster day of activities on the farm, and what a lovely day was had by all!
On arrival at the farm, we took the youngest children pony riding first. Much to our surprise all the little ones had a turn, some just sitting on a pony but most doing a circuit of the arena. It was lovely to witness the parents' pride in watching their children try something new. I think a few of the Mums would have liked a turn too, maybe that’s for another day 😊
Our older group visited the sheep first and had cuddles with the orphan lambs and then swapped to do horse riding. They had some time to spare so they walked to the bottom of the valley to see if they could catch sight of our two resident swans that have been living in the bottom pond.
Later in the day, we organised snacks and drinks in two summer houses on Caring For Life’s grounds and an easter egg hunt for the little ones. We finished with time in the play park and a chocolate easter egg and easter storybook for everyone before they left. The parents were also treated to fancy bags of mini eggs and some hen eggs to take home.
Lots of photos were taken and we hope to get them printed off and give them to our families. So precious to spend time with the children and to be involved in happy memory-making.
