One of our resident artists in the Madge Wilson art shop is in the midst of an exciting personal project. Over lockdown, whilst isolating at home she threw herself into creating all kinds of art pieces, from diamond craft to mosaics to name but a few!
Alongside this she took the opportunity to hone her drawing skills, focussing on drawing animals and birds and working through an art book which gave her a starting point and animal/ bird to work on. It was lovely to see her confidence develop and her skills as a wonderful artist blossom in this time, and to get many WhatsApp ‘pings’ with a photo of the latest creation!
When we could finally meet back in person, we were able to create a display board of many of these pieces which decorates our ALAC corridor and has received many favourable comments from people walking past.
We thought that her images would work amazingly well as note cards, and this has led to the next stage of her creative journey!
Working from photos taken on-site by our Design and media team, the focus for her drawings is now animals and birds here at Crag House Farm!
Beautifully linked to the theme of ‘caring’, some of these capture special nurturing moments- such as a cow with her calf, and a sheep caring for her lamb. We are hoping to use these notelets for future CFL correspondence and are really excited to see the outcome!
